Its the first game of the o8/09 season and already the penguins are without 2 of their top Defenseman, one of them being the best offensive defenseman in the league (there i'll say it)and is key to the penguins power play.
the penguins still will dress a potent offensive blue line with,Kris Letang, Alex Goligoski, and Daryl Sydor can hold his own. Along side of them you have the solid stay at home blueliners in Brooks orpik, Mark Eaton, Hal Gil and Rob Scuderi.
Up front for the Penguins is the best 1 2 punch in the league. The first line centered by none other than Sidney Crosby (we are still trying to figure out if he is human) Flanking him will be Miro Satan and Ruslan Fedotenko maybe, it might be dupuis there who knows.
The 2nd line will be centered by the best goal scorer in the league in Evgeni Malkin (again is he human or a machine, signs point each way) flanking him will be Jordan Staal who playing there will surpass the 30 goal mark this season, and Petr Sykora (money).
the 3rd line is centered by Max Talbot (has he ever scored a goal that didnt change History) flanking him will be Tyler kennedy (so help me god if steigy is still calling him little tiger) and Pascul Dupius (i think)
In Goal is Marc Andre Fleury (M.A.fer) who will prove this season that he is the best goalie in the east. the end of last season and the playoffs got people talking, this season will shut people up.
The Ottawa Senators have on the blue line Anton Volchenov (i wish was a penguin)who is as solid as they come. No player has blocked mor shots than him in the past few seasons (mark Eaton if he would have been healthy) Mike Commadore who they got at the deadline last year bolted already cause he knew the team would suck this year, as did Andrej Mezsaros. they did aquire Filip Kuba from the Tampa Bay lightning (because tampa bay thinks defense is stupid) Chris Philips is a solid 2-way defensemen and Christoph Schubert has Emerged as a solid blue liner.
The Senators top line is Potent with Jason Spezza, Alfredson, and heatley (wanna go for a ride) but after that it gets a little thin. Antione Vermette And Mike Fisher (groin) on the 2nd line need to come up big this year in order to get their opponents thinking. Chris Neil, Chris Kelly, and jarkko Ruutu should make for an interesting 3rd line anyone of them can check your balls off.
the biggest problem the Sens have is in Goal. Martin Gerber is far from consistant but as we saw in the playoffs can be a solid goalie, He would have gotten my vote as one of the top 2 Senators on the ice.
My Prediction..........3-2 Pens. Malkin will be huge
Marian Hossa will not be playing tomorrow out in definately with swollen ovaries.
it will be interesting tomorrow to see if i got the line combos right, i highly doubt it, so whatever, this isnt the post gazette

No Sykora today probably wont play tomorrow either SON OF A BICTH.
these injuries are seriously starting to piss me off.
Tyler Kennedy will be moved up to Sykora's spot on the 2nd line
Goligoski might be scratched for Daryl Sydor
did i get the Line combos right? Other than Sykora Being hurt i nailed the top 2,
thats about it though. HCMT will change them all up half way though the first period anyways.
so by the end of the game i might be right.
